Materials and finishing
We mainly rely on carbon fibre for the manufacture of our fibre composite components. However, we also use glass fibre. The range extends from different weaves and uni-directional weaves, also in the form of layers, through to SMC materials for press technology applications.
We use a range of resin systems, depending on the requirements and the manufacturing process. The most common are epoxy and cyanate ester systems, the latter mainly for high-temperature applications.
In order to support the structural integrity, foams and honeycombs are used, depending on the requirements for the component.
Whether artificial or fibre composite materials, aluminium, titanium or steel – a wide variety of materials and material combinations can be processed to suit requirements.
Tg of more than 340 degrees can also be realised by means of tempering processes in our furnaces and the application of high-temperature resin systems. Tempering is also used for faster and stable curing of adhesives.
A wide variety of coatings can be applied, depending on our customers’ requirements – from heat protection coatings for high temperature applications to coatings for the optimisation of subsequent coating processes and coatings for minimising mechanical abrasion.
